When I was young, I remember going to my local cyber-café (in a small town of fewer than 5,000 people) to download Dragon Ball pictures and save them onto a 3½-inch floppy disk so I could view them on my home computer.
At that time, browsing the web felt like an adventure —chaotic, confusing, and exciting. Everyone was experimenting: sharing their favorite movies or books, uploading pictures of their pets, creating crazy GIFs, and just trying to figure out how this “World Wide Web” was meant to be used.
A few years later, I decided to join that party. I built a website where my friends and I uploaded silly photos, songs from our (terrible) band, and stories and poems I wrote. It even had a state-of-the-art guestbook!
As I reflect on those days, I can’t help feeling nostalgic and thinking that something special was lost along the way. Apparently, I’m not the only one[1][2][3]. So, I’ve set out to create something that recaptures that Web 1.0 spirit. This website is a small step in that direction. Currently, it’s a simple homepage showcasing my professional profile, along with a few articles I’ve written over the years. But it won’t stop there. I’m planning to add more experimental sections, especially for creative projects like photography and writing. Hopefully, this space will evolve into something that captures the wonder —and chaos— of those early days of the Web.
I’m excited to see where this little project goes, but for now, thanks for visiting and stay tuned!
